The ever debatable topic as which one is the better, satellite hd or cable hd continues to put people into the tug of verbal war.

All along the last year the IPTV sector has praised in a high pitch about the definition television or HDTV as their ‘future saving grace’, which is the best weapon against cable MSOs.

DBS satellite TV service supplier, at present have the HD as a reward over other players in the same field. Such has been the case that they have undertaken a resolution to take Comcast to court for defaming their HD offerings.

The main problem with Comcast has been the fact that it had been running print ads that read thus: “Comcast wins the HD Picture Challenge. Satellite customers agree: HD looks better with Comcast.”

This statement has been found to be very embarrassing for the DBS Satellite TV. Comcast says the statement sums up the researches of a poll that it has commissioned through Frank N. Magid Associates. In this commission, it showed viewers a comparative overview of the two services.

So the jury is still out on this one. It may be too early to unhesitatingly declare that one is better than the other.

Keeping in view the recent progress of the new media, like the Internet, it almost seems probable that people would henceforth forget the electronic media and the print media. This is because of the wide spread impact of the new media. The electronic media like television provides entertainment to the customers at the scheduled time; whereas the newspaper has some shelf value. Pithy, short, simple and concrete sentences are used to display the original news through Internet. The target audience varies in both the cases.

While the target audience for electronic media are people with ample leisure, the target audience for the new media are those with little amount of time in hand. They would just like to browse through the Internet and get the news that they may require. This enables them to save time and unnecessarily brood over the long sentences that are generally presented in the newspaper. Since this generation is moving at a very fast pace, working men and women does not have sufficient time to waste. Therefore new media is gaining ground at a steady pace and after a few years, it is expected that Internet would dominate the world. People would therefore turn to this media and forget the older ones.
